YouGlish: YT Based Pronunciation


This is an online tool that works like an online pronunciation dictionary. But, there are some specialties making this website unique. To start with, this website provides pronunciation in connected speech unlike such dictionaries as Oxford and Cambridge. Thus, you see the pronunciation in context with linkings. It helps you see how native speakers use that word in speech, and delivers multiple resources since it is based on Youtube. Another plus it has is the word spectrum it comprises. For instance; you are very unlikely to find the pronunciation you want if you are looking for a word which is derived from another word, or other word forms like superlative, past/present participle. YouGlish has the biggest multimedia resource on the internet, which is Youtube. Therefore, you are able to find almost any phrase you search for. Lastly, a dictionary can be biased, or outdated; however, it is not possible to say these for this website the reason of which is clear-cut. In conclusion, this website is an excellent tool to improve your pronunciation.

    I have tried it today and i am planning to use it very often. Cause seeing subtitles is really helpful. While listening a speech we can see sentences and pronunciations of words thanks to subtitles. Thanks for introducing this tool for us.
